Eleven days, twenty settlements of two countries, nearly a hundred programmes - the numbers of the GĂśmĂśr-Torna Festival. However, numbers are marginal in this series of events. What matters is the sipirit that is innate and that brought to life this multifaceted festival. It reaches to the very roots and intends to revive historical traditions while entertaining locals and guests.
It houses very diverse genres and performances from opera to handicrafts, from authentic hungarian folk music to that one of the Andes, from local products to a sustainable village model. The landscape, nature, settlements, architecruare are equal features of the offer. Discover the old churches, rolling hillsides, village museums, barns, castles and, of course the World Heritage cave world.
This is the kind of festival where you never get bored. Besides the main evening concerts you can try your skills at handicratf workshops, stroll in the market places, taste local specialities, or just look around. The region offers opportunities for one- or half-day excursions to places, like the Baradla Cave linking Aggtelek and JĂłsvafĹ, the KrĂĄsnohorskĂŠ Podhradie Castle or the BetliarCastle and the ZĂĄdiel Gorge. It is also not a waist of time to stay at your cousy accommodation, sit in the garden under the old walnut tree gazing at the surrounding hills and listening to the silence...
